1. Pick a save slot
New accounts start with one slot (A). Click it, then Create. More slots cost 150 Robux on this screen or 800 Essence in the in-game shop. If you later want to start over on the same slot, wiping keeps your professions and some items such as rerolls.
2. Create your mage (and use your free rerolls)
The creation screen has four tabs for looks — Hair (any Roblox catalogue hair ID; your avatar’s hairs are filled in), Face, Body and Name (pick a first name from the list). On the right are the two rolls that actually matter:
- Race — Human 52%, Elf 20%, Dark Elf / Eldritch 10%, Dryad 6%, Lesser Angel and Lesser Demon 1% each. Each race has a perk; Human sells items to NPCs for 15% more.
- Family name — Common 50%, Uncommon 30%, Epic 15%, Legendary 5%. Common families have no bonus; ours rolled into Raijin (Epic): +5% Lightning Magic Damage, +4% Physical Damage.
You get 2 free rolls of each. Use them all before pressing Finish — a paid race reroll costs 75 Robux.
3. Pick a server
After Finish you get a Server List: every open server with its region, player count (max 16) and uptime, plus Join Random Server and Join Colosseum (ranked PvP). Pick a server near you for lower ping. In our test we picked a Singapore server and were placed in a Virginia one instead, so the server you land on can differ from the one you clicked.
4. The movement tutorial
The story opens on a black screen — “…Open your eyes…” — click to continue. A short tutorial in misty ruins teaches movement:
- Sprint: double-tap W, A or D.
- Slide: while sprinting, press LeftControl.
You can leave any time with Skip Introduction (bottom right). It needs a second click within about a second (“Click again to skip”).
Verified in-game We completed the sprint step and skipped from the slide step. The developer briefly disabled the tutorial on launch day to fix console issues.
5. Wake up in Kamo Village
You spawn in the Kamo Village Tavern. A short welcome dialogue explains the basics: M opens your map, hold U for utility spells and J opens the Quest Index.
Your first quest is New Beginnings — “Find the Kamo Village Chief”: “Head over to Kamo Village Chief Farris’ residence. His house stands out in town since it has a green roof.”
6. Find Chief Farris (New Beginnings)
Getting out of the tavern is the first real obstacle. From your room, walk to the end of the Storage corridor and take the stairs down; in the main hall the exit is the double door beside the bar, and it opens when you walk into it.
Follow the yellow quest marker (it shows the distance — about 210m from the tavern). Chief Farris’ Residence is on a raised street past the wheat field; walking in counts as discovering a location and gives a little experience. Farris is upstairs, behind his desk. Press E to talk:
“Ah, the hero has arrived! Thank you so much for saving our village. It is my honor to offer you a reward for your heroic deeds. I have arranged for you to see our blacksmith, he has something special waiting for you.”
Talking to him completes New Beginnings: you reach level 2 and get 50 Marks (the gold coin counter at the bottom left), and the next quest, First Steps — “Learn the ways of the world”, starts with Claim your reward from Vulcan.
Verified in-game The quest text calls it a house with a green roof; on our server the roof looked reddish-brown, so trust the marker.
7. Pick your free starter weapon
Vulcan the Blacksmith runs Vulcan’s Workshop next to the Bank (about 100m from the chief). Talk to him and you get to choose one free weapon “for your role in saving Kamo from the Night Charmer threat”:
| Weapon | In-game description |
|---|---|
| Gauntlets | “Weathered gauntlets made of iron. They may be old, but they still pack a punch.” |
| Novice Blade | “A basic sword for beginners on their journey, reliable and sturdy for early battles.” |
| Longsword | “A dull blade sufficient to cause harm, as menacing as it is heavy.” |
| Rustic Spear | “A simple yet effective weapon for new adventurers, ideal for thrusting and jabbing.” |
We took the Novice Blade; it goes straight into hotbar slot 3. Weapon stats are not shown on this screen, and the shop outside sells more (a Dull Rapier costs 30 Marks), so the choice is not permanent. After that, First Steps continues with Help Eira.
8. Level up and spend stat points
Level 2 gave us 2 stat points and 1 skill point. Open Tab → Stats and click an attribute to spend a point. Vitality (“Increases toughness. Boosts maximum health.”) took us from 117 to 121 Health with 2 points — +2 Health per point at this level.
Your magic is still suppressed after these first quests; we are following the First Steps chain to see where the grimoire is unlocked.
9. Menus to know
Press Tab to open your inventory (weight limit 80 at the start) and the character tabs: Stats, Skills, Equipment, Professions and Bestiary (39 entries to discover).
- Attributes: Agility, Endurance, Intelligence, Strength and Vitality, all 0 at level 1 with 0 stat points to spend.
- Skills: at first only the utility spells Luminous Wisp (light in dark caves) and Mana Vision (see hidden objects, auras and traps).
- Equipment: Stat and Vanity loadouts (weapon, outfit, helmet, chest, legs, face, neck, back).
- The shop is the cart icon at the top; it also has Magic Rates and Race Rates buttons.
- The ? button opens the game’s own help: Abilities, Controls, Magic Guide, Progression and Starter Guide.
Beginner tips
- Don’t buy rerolls on day one. The developer says everything can be earned through play, and the Starter Pack (379 Robux) already includes 5 race, 2 magic and 5 family rerolls if you do want to spend.
- Turn on Performance Mode in Settings → General if the game stutters.
- Pick up a profession early. They level from normal activities and pay out Locked Essence. See professions.
- Overworld quests were buffed to give more EXP in the Oct 27 patch.
